I could ask you a host of questions.  Are you married or single?  Male or female?  Do you own a car?  Do you go to church?  Have you ever been to jail?  Your reply would be instant.  But sadly, when many are asked about their eternal destiny, (Heaven or Hell)  they say that no one can know for certain or that they hope so...
  However the Word of God teaches us that we can be sure about Heaven!  “These things have I written unto you that you may KNOW that ye have eternal life...” (1 John 5:13).  God is not a liar and He has never intended for man to go through life guessing and wondering about such an important issue.  The Bible does NOT say, “maybe” or “we’ll see”, but “THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...”  The Apostle Paul was convinced in his heart he was Heaven-bound and that is why he said “ …to die is gain”  (Phil. 1:21).
  Through the centuries believers have been tortured and martyred while praising Jesus with peace in their hearts from KNOWING their destiny.  One reason so many people fear death is because they do not realize that God’s salvation is so simple.  The lies of Satan darken the minds of those who fail to study the Scriptures for themselves.  All that God wants from us is an honest confession of our sin and to recognize that He alone can forgive us.  Turning to Jesus, our Savior, He delivers us from the penalty of sin and promises us an eternal home in Heaven.
   Suppose you were drowning in the ocean and I pulled you into my boat, cleaned you up, fed you and gave you some dry clothes.  Then as we approached the shore, from a few hundred feet out I threw you back into the water to swim or drown.  You would not call me a savior; not unless I took you all the way to the shore.
  Mankind is drowning in sin!  The lie of the Devil is that Christ died to save us, BUT we must swim to Heaven’s shore.  NO! NO!  Jesus, our great Savior, “Is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him” (Heb. 7:25).  Our assurance is based upon the honesty of God’s character.  He has promised eternal life to whosoever believes in Him.  (John 3:16, 10:27-29, etc.)
  What about you?  Are you resting in Christ to get you to Heaven’s shore or are you trying to swim your way clutching to church membership?  Is your confidence in the Savior alone or do you put some trust in your church, good deeds, or something else?  Study the Scriptures yourself and you will find only faith in Jesus Christ brings your salvation.
  Jesus said,“...no man comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6).  There are two categories of people, those that are going to Heaven and those that are going to Hell.  “He that hath the Son hath life, He that hath not the Son of God hath not the life”.
  I could ask you again, do you have a car, do you own a home, etc.?  I ask you, do you have the Son of God?  Do you have eternal life?  I know that I do!  Christ said, “and ye will not come to Me that ye might have life...” (John 5:40).  Yes, God wants you to KNOW, and to be sure.  And you can know that you have ETERNAL LIFE!  “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:13).  You must decide!  Pray to the Lord Jesus now and invite Him into your heart!​
